Microsoft Azure Machine Learning Studio is a collaborative, drag-and-drop tool you can use to build, test, and deploy predictive analytics solutions on your data. Machine Learning Studio publishes models as web services that can easily be consumed by custom apps or BI tools such as Excel.

AML is a SAAS (Software as a Service) offering from Microsoft. There are many pre built algorithms available in AML. You send your data to AML, from which some portion of the data will be taken to ‘train’ the model, some portion will be taken to ‘test’ the model. After testing the model, you can then use fresh data to do the predictive analysis. Once the model is tested, you can create a Web Service. Having done the same, the Web Service can be consumed using Excel or using PowerBI.
